from SPACE21 Kurdish Experimental Music Label

Poster/Print

This catalogue is a documentation of the fourth edition festival of Space21 took place in a Hammam (public bath) in the city of Slemani.

The exhibition draw attention to the special architectural and social environments of the Hammam. There are a number of Hammam still active, and with their particular spatial qualities will allow for unique sonic investigations. While the Hammam is less central to life in Kurdistan today, it nonetheless touches deep historical and personal memories of many people, and therefore may also allow for reflecting upon the history of the cities and their transformation over the years.

There is no economic benefit from selling this catalogue. The purpose of publishing this catalogue is to promote Space21, the independent international experimental music and sound art festival in Kurdistan.
